FY 21
Sustainability agenda increasingly affects companies, investors, clients, workforces and countries. Today, clients, investors and community in general are interested in much more than financial data. PwC Türkiye is publishing our first sustainability report to transparently and more holistically convey to all our stakeholders the value we contribute, in line with our company’s purpose and values, to our employees, clients, capital markets and the societies we operate within.
“At PwC Türkiye, we took major steps on our sustainability journey this year. We joined the world’s largest sustainability platform, the United Nations Global Compact. In addition, we signed the United Nation Women’s Empowerment Principles. In our first sustainability report, published as part of our approach to sustainability which is based on four major themes in line with company strategy, values and purpose, we aim to answer the questions in the minds of our stakeholders by acting transparently. I would like to thank all my teammates for their efforts and their determination to always help us improve on this journey. Knowing that we have a long way to go, we are proud of the progress that we have made.
In our approach to sustainability at PwC Türkiye we focus on recognition for our employees, guiding future generations and developing innovative solutions, both locally and globally. We created our approach to sustainability guided by our corporate purpose, our values and our global network, and built it under four major focus areas: Responsible Service Vision, Environment, Employees and Community. As one of the first organizations to approve the WEF Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics, we prepared our sustainability report, which incorporates performance monitoring metrics for our four focus areas, and designed our performance monitoring metrics based on the WEF-IBD Stakeholder Capitalism metrics.
As a professional service provider, we work to build trust in society and solve important problems, and we help organizations mitigate risks resulting from their operations, seize opportunities and create more sustainable value. We work hard in the areas of ethics and compliance, quality, risk management, data security and confidentiality, which we consider to be parts of our responsible service vision. Accordingly, we always aim for high client satisfaction from our clients, who place their trust in PwC. When developing the way we do business, we follow digital transformations and continue thought leadership activities based on our experience.
When we understand our effect on the planet and the environment, we can start to work on urgent problems such as climate change. PwC’s purpose, to build trust in society and solve important problems, guides us in everything we do, including our effect on our planet. We rely on technology and our employees to overcome community's biggest problems and achieve sustainable results.
Our working ecosystem is the foundation of our ability to continue providing the high quality services that our clients expect. Therefore, valuing our employees is a PwC Türkiye value. Our human resources strategy is focused on becoming the world’s leading talent developer and developing the agility and trustworthiness of our employees in a rapidly changing world. We work to ensure our employees have the best possible employee experience, from the moment they apply for a job at PwC Türkiye and throughout their careers with us. As a result of our analysis, we established 11 primary and nine secondary subjects around four strategic themes: Responsible Service Vision, Environment, Employees and Community.
Our purpose also means working with others to handle the biggest problems the world is facing in such a way as to build trust. Therefore, at PwC, we believe it is our responsibility to be part of the solution to social problems and help people adapt to the future.
